In a response to concerns that excessively loud volume via headphones can lead to permanent ear damage, Apple has released a Nano/5th gen iPod software upgrade that allows users to set their max volume. So, no matter how high you crank the volume it won't go above a whisper if that's what you want. Worth noting that the max volume can be set and locked via PIN number thereby preventing the user from changing this setting without the PIN.

Video: Cold War Time Capsule found hidden in the Brooklyn Bridge
March 22, 2006 at 2:58 pm | Posted in history | Leave a commentWCBS TV has great video of a Cold War era fallout shelter discovered intact in the Brooklyn Bridge. The room included over 350,000 high calorie crackers (the PowerBar of the day) as well as water barrels and medical supplies to be used in the treatment over atomic bomb victims.
Amazing that this treasure trove was passed by thousands of commuters on a daily basis.
