Follow the link for a Google Map showing real time(?) swine flu diagnoses, deaths and false alarms.
The legend:
Pink markers are suspect
Purple markers are confirmed
Deaths lack a dot in marker
Yellow markers are negative
I’m not certain of the data source – World Health Organization or Centers for Disease Control.

Future domain names will be local and international

ICANN, the international body that governs top-level domain names, will increase new domain name endings by 20%. While the .com ending and U.S. based websites have dominated the Internet since the mid-90’s, the new domain name endings will be written in languages not based on the Roman alphabet.
You can also look forward to local endings like .berlin and .nyc. No word yet on .sf.

The Google News Timeline feature runs your search term through a news archive that includes Time Mag and many local newspapers. Goes back to the forties. History teachers are already giddy about this new tool.
Google Similar Images finds…similar images. You find a pic of a Space Shuttle launch, click similar images, and view images that are close or exact matches to the original.
