Photoshop: Magazine Cover
The U.S. market for PRINT magazines in 2013 was $ 24.6 billion. And every magazine needs a cover. Every cover needs a designer.
You will create two covers. Both covers should be setup as separate documents with the following settings:
size: 8.5 x 11 (or 11X8.5)
resolution: 180 dpi
Cover #1
The first cover design offers a great deal of freedom. The cover will feature YOU and may also follow in the footsteps of other magazines that focus on ONE person.
Magazine focus: it’s you and…what? LIfestyle, news, skateboarding.
Magazine title: it has to be school appropriate otherwise your choice. Do you go with your name? Or what you are?
Cover image: the main image must be you. If focus of the magazine is all about your outdoor lifestyle then you should Photoshop yourself climbing El Capitan.
Cover stories: 1 main story, three to five minor stories, two teasers. Use buzz words to capture reader’s attention. Pull quotes (fake) to add to your cover.

Cover #2
This magazine has a news and lifestyle focus that is geared to the 21 to 30 age ranges. The readers are primarily English readers but the magazine has a global reach. It should appeal to both genders.
News and lifestyle are combined to target the reader who wants to be on point with trends but also educated about global issues beyond what is on social media. Think someone who is looking outside of themselves while building a career/entrepreneur work.
